Feng Shui Tips

FURNISHING A ROOM
- Set the intention. Decide what you want to happen in the room. How do you want to feel in space? How do you want others to react?
- Find the sweet spot. Stand or sit in different corners of the room to find the most comfortable place. Usually, this will be where you can see the entire room, the doors, and the windows with your back to a wall or corner.
- Decide on the light, colors, tones and textures. Use carefully placed mirrors to bring in more light. Identify the focal points windows, fireplace, TV station, etc.
- Place the furniture so you are situated in the sweet spot while considering the focal points. You will feel more comfortable, relaxed and “safe” in this position.
- Side note: we communicate best when sitting at right angles to each other and hear best from our right side.
FOR LOVERS
- For a balanced relationship, create equality on each side of the bed. Equal spacing, nightstand, and lamp on both sides.
- Note how many family photos are in the room. How many eyes are on you?
- Anything from old relationships should be in another room, if at all.
- Artwork should convey a sense of partnership. It could be anything from a pair of something, two swans on a lake, two flowers in a vase, etc.
- Focus on the three “R’s” in the bedroom. Rest, Rejuvenation, and Romance.
- Colors should be a variation of flesh tones from yellow, tan, pink, etc.
- Furniture placement: have a clear line of sight to the doors and windows. The “warrior” should sleep closest to the door.
Reduce stress
Leave the workday stress just outside your door. Create an entrance that engages our senses with fragrant flowers, beautiful art, colors that invite and soothe, and calming music. no clutter.
MEET ANY GOALS
To break back habits, change the furniture in the room, and the practice takes place. Unchanged habits solidify habits.
NEW HOME
Paint your front door a welcoming color and use bright-colored flowers, a clear pathway, and good lighting.
FOR THE SEASONS
To warm up your home during winter, add color with yellow, orange, or red in a fresh or silk flower arrangement, cozy pillows and blankets, and cinnamon or orange-scented candles.
STAGING TO SELL
Create an environment showcasing openness, spaciousness, light, view, cleanliness, and depersonalized, uncluttered space, highlighting all of the home's best features. This is often the opposite of creating a space suited to the current occupant's comfort and desires.
